Lada - Fiat Twincam
T66 - 28/9/10 at 11:58 AM

I am busy with the engine swap on my Lada (yes Lada)..

Its going to get a complete stainless exhaust system, made by my very gifted future son in law.

I want a fruity exhaust, loud but not too loud if that makes sense. The car is stripped out of carpet/soundproofing so I am used to lots of road noise anyway.

What diameter pipe is suggested for the system? - Im thinking 2"

And some advice on cherry bombs please, any good ?

Heres a picture of the system

Putting a stainless exhaust on it will double the cars value

if its a 2.0 twin cam then i would go 2 1/4. get yourself on guy crofts forum. you have to send him an email to join but if your doing something interesting with a twinc then becoming a member is easy.

I was thinking along the 2 - 2 1/4 inch pipe.

Its going to get a cherry bomb backbox Ive decided, I will pick up a centre small box from somewhere.

for my 2 litre vauxhall engine, my exhaust is 2.5" stainless

Some reading if you have seen it already my apologies. The Fiat TC mates straight onto the Lada gearbox.

Baxter is in New Zealand, he has posted lots about the Niva, the excellent www.lada.co.uk site is no more, it was a gold mine of information.

My Niva had 4x2 box section rock slider sills, raised suspension (Spacer doughnuts) longer coils & long reach dampers. Arches were cut back and it sat on 205 x 16s MTs. No front bumper, only 2 seats as I used it like a van. The 4x2 sill conversion is not that hard, can help you out if your interested.

On its first off road RTV trial I shamed some serious money 4x4s, the best one was the 18" vertical rock step, the only other car to get up it was the G Wagen on difflocks, My Niva took 4 goes at it and then scrambled over it.

Post me a picture of yours.
