hi chaps, ive decided to change my coolant setup on the car and i want to get my hands on a good ally rad, can anyone help me out on this??? demon theives are a bit scary. ta

Why not use a Polo rad like many others have.They are light ally and plastic and reputed to be able to handle 200bhp.

It looks nice but im sure a VW one will do the same job and not be any heavier.I have seen similiar on Ebay but not very cheap.

Only £200! I'd go for it!! That's a good price for one of those, but as has been said, the polo one is as light (in fact probably lighter!) and only £45 brand new incl vat etc!!!!!!

Hi .. I posted a topic called Radiator Fun a while back...

I used a polo core and the sides/fan/2 speed switch from a golf...

Oh and i bought a spare polo core for £10 this means if i get my new one busted I can get the core changed for a tenner ..

No-one mentioned the Nissan Micra aluminium radiator which has integral thermo housing. Can be had at many a breakers for the sum of £10.

a couple of weeks a go I bought me an Audi radiator. Seems very similar to an polo rad, but al connections ar on it.

What year and model of polo should i look out for? i'm not sure how much room i'm going to have yet so i might get away with a bigger one , you know what they say the bigger the better

Have a look in the photo archive,surrey dave and zetec come to mind as they both have the polo rad fitted.

I think the polo rad you need is the 1984 onwards 1.0 i was told the german and swedish part number was 17321B but i'm sure if its wrong someone will soon correct me.

Or better still contact surrey dave or zetec through here,i know the price is usually under 50 quid with the vat on.

I have a brand new Polo Radiator still in its box, i bought it for my Luego but it is just too big, i was going to take it back but not yet got around to it, if you want it we could sort a deal out i am sure. U"U me

Part Number is right. £42.95 + VAT. Will need fan switch too, Part Number 93474 @ £3.95 + VAT
