How to fit throttle bodies

Hi been trying to find a guide on how to fit throttle bodies to a zetec I have some gsxr 600 k1 to fit is there any guides out there to follow

You will need some sort of manifold adaptor - have a look at bogg brothers and DanST engineering, these are basically a flat plate with 4 round tubes that will bolt to the engine. The TBs you have then connect to the adaptor with rubber hoses (or silicon with flouro inners).

There are DIY kits on ebay or you could start from scratch ifyou have access to a welder, some tube and some flatplate.

Yea already got onto danst about a manifold I was just wondering if there was a guide or anything out there to talk me though how to install it all what connectors are used and how do I go about sorting the fuel rail out

You don't say what engine you are putting these on - if it is a zetec the you can always use the ST170 plastic inlet and use the OEM injectors and fuel rail. The TBs can then be re-spaced with a bit of thought and either leave the bike injectors in to block up the holes or put in bungs. TPS will probably need connecting but again this will depend on your ECU (may need a MAP sensor as well).

Alternatively you can get your manifold manufacturer to put injector bosses in the mounting pipes and use an OEM fuel rail, otherwise there are billet blank fuel rails that can be drilled to fit your choice of injector in the TB. I think Merlin motorsport do the fuel rail.

Finally if you are currently on carbs then you will need a return pipe to the tank and a high pressure regulator (if using the OEM ther may well be oine attached) with an injection fuel pump.

It's the 1.8 zetec I'm trying to fit the gsxr 600 k1 throttle bodies to I have the megasquirt v3 ms2 on order to use with them

Hi - I have just responded to your U2U before seeing this post.

Incase you should need them we now do the injector connectors to suit the GSXR injectors - they may be useful for building your MS loom. We also do a cable kit, the connecting kits (fluoro lined silicone hose kit to mount the bodies on the manifold) and various other bits, most of which can be viewed in our online shop.

I happen to have an st170 engine complete with manifold, injectors etc. Will be keeping the bare engine as already got a full set up on my other motor.

There's some pics in my archive that may help, only thing that I've changed from the photos is that Instead of using the ali plenum, I now have a pipercross airbox with a 4" feed pipe to try & get lots of air in.

if you put your location in your profile there maybe someone local you could see 1st hand how it's done.

Mine aren't on the engine yet so if you are local, pop in for a look :-)

ST170 MANIFOLDS HAVE A DIFFRENT PORT HIGHTS PEOPLE!

you need to re drill all the bolt holes in the plastic and make new supports to stop the bolts crushing it

fuel rail will also need work, the st170 has no fuel return line and the std blacktop one was getting in te way of the tb's

I used an st170 manifold on my silvertop zetec and don't remember re-drilling anything. I also used the standard st170 fuel rail - it's not hard.

if you checked your port holes where 10-11mm verticaly out of alignment
this can easly be done by laying a manifold gasket on top of the st170 manifold face to see how bad it is
this is why people sell a driffrent manifold or cut face plate for this engine.

the st170 has a completely diffrent head with vvc on the inlet cam to the normal zetec
