All in one rear lights

Hi Guys,

If i bought a couple of these, would i be able to turn one of the reverse lights into a fog light instead with a red bulb?
It needs to be able to pass an IVA...

fog light lens has to be marked with an F so, i imagine it won't be possible, as they'd have made it with reverse in mind... but check the lens

Andy,

you can borrow my proper fog light, for the IVA, as i will only have it fitted for the mot in may

I'd guess at no because the fog needs to have a specific lens pattern which I can't imagen that reverse bit has.

People have failed with 'fog lights' that they had bought due to the lens..

Could be wrong though!

Hmm thought that might be the case, thanks guys!
Steve, thanks for the offer but i guess i should probably have a fog light, need a reverse light as well so might as well get a matching pair!

Is a reverse light mandatry for IVA?

My fog light is still available, if you need it,

pekwah1 - 5/12/11 at 05:21 PM

yes i believe that it is considered useful that people can tell that you're reversing....!
good one steve!

A reverse light is not required on my car,

as they can hear me getting closer !!

A reverse light is also mandatory.

blakep82 - 5/12/11 at 05:28 PM

yep, reverse now mandatory for IVA (wasn't for SVA though)
think it still isn't needed for MOT though...

Even if you can you'll fail. You need minimum separation of 100mm between rear fog and brake lights

Can't you just mount a fog light under the rear panel, as some Caterhams do? They swivel, so you can get the required IVA correct angle. No need to pierce your back panel.
