Stainless pipe?
Northy - 31/1/04 at 10:33 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of some stainless steel exhaust pipe, with an outside diameter
of 48mm and a wall thickness of 1.5mm.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can get some?

Cheers

try your local Thorite outlet - they supply compressed air stuff and always have stainless in stock (our local one does anyways)

Try this outfit in Macclesfield..highly recommended.
The guy there Mark is really friendly and helpful.
I made me own manifold and he fixed me up with all the flanges/collecters/bends etc at a really good price.......plus a shot of brandy cos it was a cold day !

europa spares sell it.

you might also like to try your local LARGE auto factors - the sort that sell exhausts to take away. my local one does straight and flexy lengths.

Northy.Depending on grade & amounts reqiured I can supply you with s/s pipe for a few cans of beer.I've used 316,or is it 304 on mine between the downpipe & silencer.See my photo archive. It's painted black due to the fact the down pipes & 'box(ex honda civic) are mild steel.Let me know..For genral getting hold of this kind of pipe aways try steel stock holders 1st.I use my local firm(County Steels 01765 640633) because I've dealt with them long time due to my line of work.Good set of lads,Fair prices.

I need about 8 - 12 inches (Insert your own gag!).
It's to modify (extend) a second hand Chaterham exhaust that I've bought, so not sure what grade really.

Can you help?

Many thanks,

No bother.BUTwhat I have is in fact 50mm o/d.1mm overlap either side can be lost in the weld.48mm doesn't seem to exsist from my various suppliers( Off the shelf/standard stock).Still any good?
