Duratec and pinto clutch

Hi everyone. I’ve been busy rebuilding my mob gt duratec the past 3 years. It was driving great before with its standard duratec engine but now I’ve rebuilt the car I’m putting in an R500 spec engine in. The trouble is the clutch cover is too thick and the bell housing and slave cylinder don’t allow it to bolt together.

Before I was using an ST150 flywheel with the ST150 clutch cover and focus clutch plate. I’m now using a lightweight flywheel drilled for a pinto style clutch cover. My pinto clutch cover is thicker than the fiesta one. It’s fingers stuck out much further.

Looking at ap racing covers, the pinto one seems thinner so perhaps I have an odd clutch cover, but I can’t find any of the “correct” type in stock anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge on updated pinto clutch covers?

Thanks

I think you will find that AP have stopped making the covers, I wanted to replace mine but have had to shell out for a Helix job instead.

Is there a spacer behind the slave cylinder that can be removed?

What flywheel and clutch do Caterham use in their Rs500 ?

Or space out the bellhousing using ally plate
Draw round the bellhousing to engine face, cut and drill

Thanks for the responses everyone. There is no spacer as it's the raceline Bell housing. If I move the bell housing back it will cause the gear lever to be in the wrong place and the distance would need to be about 15mm minimum.

I'll see if I can get the flywheel drilled to accept the other clutch cover I have. Its a turbosport flywheel but I have a raceline clutch cover I got a while back but has different mounting location holes.
