New source of rads?
Mark Allanson - 29/11/03 at 01:17 PM

I have a Micra rad fitted, but have always been a little worried that it will not be up to the job of cooling a 2.0 pinto - especially in a traffic jam in the height of summer.

I went on an early morning scrap yard tour this morning and found this - its off a Merc 190 2.0E and is tiny! , but very deep. It look like it will fit fine and must be OK for my engine as it can cool the Merc. Rescued attachment Merc190Rad.jpg

Mark - is that the new shatterproof single blade cooling fan too ?

Shame the hoses r 2 the side - may be a proby on snow cone if for 7 derivative.

Good luck tho'

My "bought as an abandoned project" rolling chassis came with a 190E rad fitted. It is angled backwards by about 30 degrees by a mounting bracket sticking forwards from the bottom front crossmember. Haven't fitted it with hoses yet, but doesn't appear that there will be any problems with clearance on the chassis rails or the nosecone. Biggest problem is that the rad connectors are about as far away as they possibly could be for connecting to a pinto.
