V8 Viento Insurance

Had a quote for my 3.9l Viento at £228 for the year with a 2K limit. Value of 8K - 10K. After searching on here I thought it would be less than that. This was with A-Plan.

Anyone got anything cheaper?

True but I was kind of expecting 180ish from other people on here.

My Fury is age registered as 1976 and qualifies for a classic policy, somewhere around £122. A-Plan dug that out for me.

Look at it this way, that's £40 more than you were expecting, which is a shocking 77p a week. Is that worth stressing over?

Insured the MK with the Jag V6 for £10 less than the bike engine, around £150 with Adrian Flux. 5000mile limit and £10000 value.

4.6l stage 2 v8 developments
9k miles per year
agreed value, now at 13k. not bad considering i've done 40k miles in it.

No it's not worth stressing over. But this is Locostbuilders. I am trying to do stuff as cheaply as possibly. I like getting a good deal.

I am 34, 9 years no claims. Quiet quiet village. Locked garage in a locked compound. Insurance on 2 other vehicles and a fleet of works vehicles. No recovery. I am going to phone some more suppliers to get competitive quotes

for my 3.5lv8 Xtreme the actual insurance premium for this year was £135

I'm 38, no claims, and this is with a 3yrs no claims bonus
£100 excess
3000miles
commuting to work. (only 2.5 miles away)
able to leave on the drive at home.

this is in KT3 SW London.

I had to add a further 1000 miles on it and that cost me another £75 !

this is with Adrian Flux, and ontop of that price I add on the legal protection, breakdown cover etc.. so it goes up by another ~100quid.

I'd hunt around and call a few more insurers, tell them you are a member of a kit car club too, sometimes helps.

I think it's the Worthing Branch of A Plan that the Westfield Club deal with. Check out the Westfield forum.

Hi,
Just out of curiosity was our premium the most competitive that you've had?
Regards,
Dan.

Yup, but I only phoned A-Plan and AF. I asked A-Plan for a better quote but they couldn't match it.

I pay £130 for 3000 miles with agreed value around £4-5k (forget exactly). This is for a 3528cc Rover V8 engine. I'm 42 with 6 points on license although 3 come off next month and the other 3 in February (I had a few month of bad luck after 10 years with a clean license... ) This is with Backford Bloor ( http://www.kitcar-insurance.co.uk ) I've been with these guys since before my SVA test and can't fault them at all.
