Probably most stupid clutch arm pin question ever.
This is probably a really dumb question.
Just started work on the type 9 gearbox having finished all the engine work and mounts and with the engine bay now ready to accept the engine/box.
A while ago I thought to buy the release bearing and clutch arm pin

on.
The problem is now looking at the clutch arm and this strange brass pin, I cant work out where the hell it goes? Does it replace the pin that holds
the end of the clutch arm? Does it locate the release bearing in the clutch arm?
I've now given up and gone back to the house to sulk and hope someone knows the answer.

looks like the one that's pressed into the bellhousing
I guess its a different height form the OE one so as to move the pivot point to match your release bearing ?
(I think most folk use a 'longer' release bearing instead)

yes I use the longer thrust bearing cct133 have found that a few people having trouble with the longer pin making thrust bearings rattle
