R1 electric water pump

Hi everyone, I'm building a 5pw bec and I've noticed some talk about converting to electric water pumps on some bike engines, is this required on an R1 5pw?
Thanks

I have the 5VY in my single seater and had cooling issues untill i added a Davies Craig booster pump. If i was to do it again, i would remove the OEM water pump ( just remove the turbine at the water pump end) and just have the booster pump as its pretty powerful

I think the 5PW water pump is chain driven and runs the oil pump too so you cant fully remove it.

Yeah I never had any issues with this and my 5PW so I'd be tempted to leave it alone.
