hi all
my mk has a 2008 r1 motor, how do i get the speedo to operate ie can i use the yamaha speed sensor and does it work on magnetic pulse ????????????

Are you using the yamaha clocks ?? If so a speedohealer should do the job just fine.

Speedohealer on my 2003 r1 just plugged into the loom uses the yamaha sensor and is alterable to suit your diff and wheel circumference.

Pick up is in the bike gearbox on the 2003 and the healer uses that ,no need for magnets etc. Pretty much just plug and play really.

As above the speed sensor is built into the gearbox. No need for anything else but connecting the Yamaha clocks to the loom.

the standard pickup is in the gearbox, so just hook up the clocks to the loom, and it will give you a readout.. albeit wrong due to the different ratio from the diff, and wheel size. just get a speedo healer plugged in line, and adjust it to read correct

Hi lads,
sorry for the thread hijack OP..

My Global GT light (2005 R1 engine) uses most of the R1 loom and R1 clocks however the speedo is completely blank and the engine management light is on.

Not bothered about light but, would be good to get speedo working so I can see what sort of speed I'm actually doing.

Any ideas? Is there a wire I can check is actually where it should be, etc?
