Mate a Lancer Turbo to a T5 box
mreveready - 23/9/02 at 09:16 PM

Can anyone point me in the direction of a bellhousing to mate a Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo with a Borgwarner T5 gearbox.

I'm at the fit the engine stage so all replies welcome.

Engine was rebuilt 10k ago and has been upped to 220bhp and the box is only 32k miles hence really need to marry these two up.

Ideas?
Help?
Pointers?

All appreciated.

not sure about in this country, but if you get really desperate, try castlemaine rod shop in australia, they have a website somewhere and would probably help you out.

in true locost tradition "Make yer own" bolt one plate to engine, one to gear box, fiddle with clutch, find a friction plate that will fit the box input shaft that is the same Dia as the Mitsubishi pressure plate, then fill the gap between the two with whatever width plate u need,

job done.......££££££££££'s saved.

hmmm, sounds good in a bodgit kinda way, i might employ your tactics........

but is it legal to make your own bellhousing.

done plenty with no problems, clutch sortin is the hardest bit, mix n match.....to suit

Bodgit ????? so building your own car is "Bodgit" ? there's lots a "Bodgits" out there then.....

there is a guy who bolted a mitsi box to a cossie built a 4wd ka that was in ccc a few months bac

and wot lancer is it the old 8v type or the later 16v (the evo's) if its the 8v the starion box should fit and ive been told they can take serious power and it might fit the 16v but not sure but was told of a starion runnin an evo3 engine for rally cross but dont no wot box was in it

p.s. 220 outta a 16v mitsi turbo aint that much the grp n with a 32mm restrictor on the turbo have bout 250+ with a gd mangement 300+with 34mm
