eddie99 - 24/9/10 at 10:03 PM

Since getting the global, its now dreaming about the next project so heres what i've been doing the last few hours:

Trial Race Body
Trial Race Body

Then chassis to fit under it:

Chassis drawing under body
Chassis drawing under body

The full Cad chassis will have to be another night....

Thinking something very similar like:

Simple Race chassis

What do you think, like or dislike

Looks nice. Ill put in a Holeshot Racing BEC V8. Where do I sign up?

Oh hang on let me save up 15K for the build.

Joking aside, looks nice and smooth. I love the GT1 look and if it was a two seater it would be perfect for me.

Very nice but I agree that a 2 seater is the way to go.

Especially now a lot of track days aren't allowing single seaters.

What engine were you dreaming of fitting?

I love it, fantastic proportions too, it looks right.

What CAD SW did you use?

eddie99 - 25/9/10 at 08:57 AM

Yeah well its for racing so hence why it doesn't have 2 seats. But might have a go doing a different centre body that allows a second seat and hides it a bit like Russbost's machine.

Did it on SW 2005....

Engine is between Turbo'ing the VAG 1.8 with audi transaxle and bike engine 08 CBR

... how many parts were you thinking of making the bodywork in?

Main tub and a front / rear clip?

eddie99 - 25/9/10 at 09:24 AM

Yup 3 sections, yet to figure out the splitting but needs more detail first.

I need you to teach me SW... that in a couple of hours...

Loving the use of the spare engine parts holding up the single seater.

What single seater is that?

designer - 25/9/10 at 11:23 AM

THAT IN A COUPLE OF HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eddie99 - 25/9/10 at 04:09 PM

About 2 hours to be precise. Maybe 3....

Confused but excited. - 25/9/10 at 06:27 PM

Eddy, I think your status just changed from 'Registered Trader' to 'Guru'.

andyd - 25/9/10 at 09:04 PM

Good skills.

How about a tutorial on how to do that?

I'll admit I'm struggling with modelling bodywork... in any software package!

eddie99 - 26/9/10 at 12:50 PM

You'd be surprised how simple the procedures are. Most of that car is an loft. Started with sideon with a few dimensions, getting the shape on the outside, then extruded that, then the middle bits are all lofts throughout pretty much with a fair bit of filleting...
