IVA Steering Wheel
Jamesc - 27/1/14 at 11:31 AM

Good morning all.

I'm looking at getting a steering wheel.. Is it easiest to use a Sierra steering wheel for IVA, or are there any IVA passable aftermarket steering wheels available?

I'm looking to have a removable wheel, but I'm not sure if it will cause hassle for the IVA.. Can anyone give me their experience/advice?

Thanks.

Easiest way is to stick the sierra one on for IVA, then swap boss and wheel once its passed. There are aftermarket ones that will pass, but no need to bother finding or payiong for one really.

where are you? I have a Sierra / Escort RSTurbo one that is available for the duration of the test.

I'm in Norwich. I need one so I can mount the digidash in a suitable place, IVA test is a fair way away!

That's very kind of you mate, I appreciate that. If I can't find one locally, I'll be in touch if that's ok?

No problem....

I'm in Norwich & have an aftermarket wheel & hub that (hopefully!) will get through IVA.

You're welcome to borrow it when you're ready for your test.

Some aftermarket ones will definately pass. The manual now explicitly says that metal spokes are allowed as long as they meet edge radius requirements. My inspector was looking for that, and a collapsible boss, and my momo team was fine on both counts.

Thanks for the replies. I will get in touch with someone closer to IVA time.. Hopefully won't be too long!

I'll keep a look out for a removable boss and wheel.

Thanks again.
