Ladies and Gents,
Had an MOT fail on the Indy the other day because my front brake hoses were fouling on the wishbones at full lock.
I have put the necessary 180 degree turn in so the hose coils up nicely, just wondered if anyone has fitted any bracketry to avoid this?
I passed the SVA 3 years ago with the hoses as they are now, using Wilwood front calipers means that the hose is close to the cycle wing bracket
anyway.
I've tried cable tying the hose to the wishbone to see if it would work with a bracket but this limits the extension of the hose on the opposite
lock.
Any ideas or solutions would be greatly received. Tempted to argue the toss with the guy if there are no solutions available.

Fit longer hoses for MOT then return to braided upon returning home....................
put some anti-rub clips on
Can you just play around with the bend in the hose? i.e. not just necessarily 180 degrees.
My hoses actually have barely any twist and they miss my wishbones by quite a margin. The hoses are the Goodridge ones supplied by MK and I have
fitted adapters for the wilwood calipers.
I will try and get a pic to you tomorrow

Would you not fail for having "Twisted" brake hoses .....
I have no twist in my hoses. I just used some fuel hose split down the middle and cable tied around the hose to protect it from the wishbone. Passed
SVA and MOT like that.

I put rubber hose round the brake hose and cable tied it to the upper wishbone. It passed SVA and MOT.
You could limit the amount of lock on the steering if it only just fails on full lock.
I put a 'loop' into mine which seems to deal with the fouling problem and extension at full lock
was going to fit a bungee to hold them in place for SVA but didnt need it in the end. Bungee on the principle that it wouldnt restrict motion at full
range.
I've managed to tweak the twists so that there is no touching throughout the range of motion.
Was a bit of messing about manipulating them into the right shape but seems to be ok now.
