So which is the best for a seven?

Depends what ratio rack you have really..

Tried 265, then 280 but 300 was the best.

Always better to have something sizeable to hold

a smaller wheel meams you wont be driving it like a bad hollywood film, and making too many adjustments.

Ive found that a larger wheel makes for more required adjustment whilst driving, as a result of its increased leverage.

I found a 300 mm wheel to be best for
me,i tried a 280 but found it a tad small.

Whats best for a 7....... or whats best for you - two different things really. If you are 6ft 3 and built like a brick outhouse then smaller than someone who's 5ft 7 and 9st wet through.

I've got a 280 in my Westie.

Hard work sometimes at low speed, but OK on the move.

Gets in the way of the dials and can't see the indicator warning lights on the dash, but any bigger and I wouldn't get my legs underneath.

I have a 320mm with a flat bottom, seems to work well (haven't driven with it yet thou)

305mm (12" works well with my 2.9 quick rack.
