Studs to fit rally design cortina hubs?
mcg - 17/7/10 at 02:43 PM

Just a quickie whilst I am waiting for my wife to do the shopping at sainsbury!
I have the ally hubs from rally design (cortina geometry) but no studs (they forgot to bring em to stonleigh!)
i was thinking of using the studs that i have spare from some sierra rear hubs- noticed that they have a kind of spline at the base - are they good for the job or will the spline bugger up the ally - in which case buy the right ones from rally d.
Thanks in advance.
Matt

I would have thought all types have some spline-ness, else what else stops them from spinning when you tighten your nuts?

Sierra ones should be perfect! The ones they supply would be exactly the same I would imagine...

all studs as far as i know will have thte spline, im pretty sure mine were the correct rally design ones which are also splined.
one thing to make sure though is that you press them in, dont hit them with a hammer!

Not all studs are the same - Mk2 escorts front hubs have a larger spline

I have a set of 8 standard Cortina studs (M12x1.5) going spare. Just send me a fiver to cover postage and they are yours.
