Right, Got my clutch and accelerator cables today from MAC#1, but i dont think i have the right clutch cable for my BEC? Do they come in standard for or do you have to modify to make them fit?

Is this cable wrong?

Also before i starting cutting the accelerater cable to shape can you tell me what the things are, and how to fit them in the bottom pic.

Clutch cable should be fine - the white bit goes into the black tube behind the pedal in the engine bay and the ring goes onto the pedal via a bolt.

The bottom pic black bit goes into the accelerator pedal tube and the cable goes through from the inside so the ring one again bolts to the pedal.

The brass and silver nipple are for the other end of the ccelerator cable depending on the size of the locating orifice on your carbs.

Clear as mud?

But on the clutch the connecting bracket it's too small for the cable. do i modify this to make it fit ie drill it out or is there some other way?

Help?

Yup, just modify the clutch arm so that the cable can slot through. The standard bike cable is quite a tight fit as well.

You may want to lift and turn the clutch arm so that the little return spring works too. Not teaching anyone to suck eggs, I only mention this as I can only do this job with the clutch cover off as a chassis member is in the way

Yep - the end in your second pic goes in there - you may need to prise/file it a little.

Good cable to get though - mine has been so smooth and faultless.

Cable is plastic coated as well as the quality lined outer.

Sounds a good (simple) solution then. Think I'll be calling Mac1 soon

I have to go with the recommendation of the man who invented "Pat-nav"

That was a classic and is still being used today both in the tin top and bitsablade.
