Wtd: 1 or 2 Toyo 888 205/15/50 used, worn out
Antnicuk - 2/6/09 at 04:54 PM

My rear tyre expired in a big way at the last track day so last week i ordered 4 new ones being told they would be here in a couple of days, i chased them up 7 days later and they said "oh sorry, toyo are out of stock will be at least 2 weeks", only problem is i have a track day in 3 weeks so i am edging my bets to see if i can get 1 or 2 worn out ones to use if they dont arrive.

Annoying this is, he actually rang toyo while i was on the phone to check they were in stock

I'm in nessex so somewhere close by would be handy,

I've got four well worn 195s lying about. Long way from Essex though..

Toyo 888 195 50 15

Oh, and we had the same bother trying to get hold of 888s for my son's last race. We ended up buying a pair of AO48s at a much greater price!

I bloody hope not. They will be losing business if they have got a 3 month wait! Everyone will just go to the competitors.

Yes, you are a long way from me, but thanks for the offer.

Trouble is, we paid £66 each for Toyo 888s from Camskills, the equivallent Yokohama AO48s were £108 each!

Are these 888's the ultimate cheap super sticky race tyres?

Paid £130 for 2 Pirelli P6000s 205/65 16", doubt they're anywhere near race spec but thought I'd mention that for perspective

For sticky and cheap, you cant beat a set of second hand slicks for the track, usually around a £10 to £15 each. But, next in line, and road legal, are the Toyo 888 and Yokohama AO48 type of tyre. I've experienced both of these, and tbh, feel much the same. The Yoko's being a fair bit more pricey though...

Are you still looking for R888s?

A mate of mine has 2 in medium compound in that size, looking to sell them for £75 - give me a u2u if interested and I'll pass on his details

Hi All,

I have for sale 2 Toyo 888 tyres in medium compound 205/50x15. They have completed one race meeting, but have between 3 and 5 mm of tread left on them making them road legal. I have now switched to a different make of tyre and hence do not need them.

Looking for £75 for the pair

They'll be located at RAF Marham in Norfolk...
