The minister, he say yes :)

I passed my SVA retest this morning!
I had the original inspector and he had no issues with anything that had been done. Emissions were a breeze, it passed on the BET test with no fiddling required which was a blessing!

Now to play with DVLA

graememk - 3/1/07 at 11:26 AM

Cheers Iain,

All of the paperwork has gone off, so fingers crossed it will happen quickly!
I used the MNR map as a base but tweaked it at my local MOT station. I was chuffed that it went through first time.
Now I have to look forward to using it properly

TimC - 3/1/07 at 01:55 PM

Good weather sounds a plan, I'd like to be able to put my foot down without breaking traction at 60

I'm allowed back in the garage this weekend to fix all of the stuff that's mysteriously fallen off.

The registration process is in the hands of Paul Jepson (Kit car registrations)
His service is fantastic and I heartily advise anyone about to SVA/Register to talk to him as he's managed the process from applying for the SVA to dealing with the DVLA.

Gergely - 4/1/07 at 10:28 AM

Congratulations Paul! Great looking car and I am sure you'll enjoy driving it!

1. mine still breaks traction in the dry at 60 with the toyo 888's

2. wonder what bits they are

3. Yes Paul is excellent and fast...

chockymonster - 4/1/07 at 10:47 AM

So, it breaks traction in the dry at 60 with 888s. Try it in the wet with 888s then
It feels wrong to get into the powerband and have the rear wheels spin up!! I suppose I've been pandered to with 4wd, AYC and ABS

Can I drive it yet

GregMcN - 4/1/07 at 07:14 PM

Well done Paul.
I'd like to think I am not too far behind but still quite a few things to sort out.

I was told 888s need quite a bit of heat in them before they really start to work so you may be struggling this time of year wet or dry.

Greg

I have, I can get it sideways, in a straightline, thru the first 3 gears...

Worse still, I went a round a long sweeping bend, at 120 km/h in 40 degree heat, on a dual carriageway, only to find the road flooded by a burst water main...

I needed a change of underpants that day I can tell you... thought I was gonna be toast...
