Sealed lamp unit
wydraz - 2/12/08 at 10:46 PM

Guys,

I don't know where to get a replacement sealed lamp unit for my MK Indy!

Details from lamp which has blown (passenger side in a Right Hand Drive car):

From front of light:

Wagner
E11
7603
DRIVE
LEFT

From rear of light:

WAGNER
12.8V
7014
60/45W
A3
PILOT
TW4
W5W
U16
113

It also has a clear circle under the main light connector for, I guess, the separate sidelight to shine through.

Thanks,

Dan

yes..........

my local tip.

i threw 2 out last weekend.

I advertised them on here months ago free to a good home and there were no takers and i had a clear out last weekend.

I even thought it might be worth one last go before i ditch them.

bugger!

I love sealed beams, just got some for the beetle

measure the diameter as they are all universal fittings, you could get some from a Landy parts supplier or a vw one depending on the size of your lamp

I have 2 off, a Land Rover, 7 inch bowls so more or less standard for all brit cars of the 60s and 70s and also lotus 7 style lamps.

I think they have the circle for the side lamp too.

free to a good home.

Vehicle Wiring Products and Premier Wiring supply them for reasonable money.

Local Halfrauds also had 7" ones...not quite so cheap though...

Might be worth checking out a halogen conversion, made a huge difference to my old Mini and possibly cheaper than a pair of sealed beam units if you shop around?

Will these work?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220303278311&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:11

I hope so as I bought them!

Cheers

There's no mention of side lights in those is there? You will have to wire some separate ones in, no problem apart from finding some you like the look of and where to put them.

I find them a bit wobbly to make a really effective paperweight or door stop...

Ad says they are suitable for a Mini so they should have the sidelight

The Mini Clubman (the proper one, not the pretender) had separate sidelights...

Wagner ones are made in the USA and are stocked by many uk suppliers including us @ sVc
Upgrading to H4 halogen is by far the best option, many suppliers have a budget type - our is £19 per pair inc bulbs & Vat, BUT, if you have the freestanding headlights with the rim split at the base and tightened with a bolt at the base of the rim, they are not the easiest fit without a bit of metal cutting / filing.
We do have ones that fit straight in without any modification at all.

Steve,

Can you please email me exactly what I need as I do have the ones which clamp at the bottom.

Dan
