I am having a senior moment, on the ESC ignition module, is the plastic tube outlet, for vacuum advance from the carb?

If you are talking about the ESC in a sierra, then you should have a tube that connects to it from the inlet manifold. It is a built in MAP sensor for sensing engine load & adjusting the advance & retard of the timing.
