well chuffed - got all 11 right!
dont know a thing about baseball, just guessed it along the lines of cricket.

ned - 23/3/04 at 10:35 AM

8, though i'd argue the point on one of the ones i got wrong.

Ned.

GO - 23/3/04 at 11:21 AM

10/11, and also got the bloody baseball one wrong, knew what it was talking about, but know nothing about the sport.

Ned, what was the one you dispute?

Two I wasn't sure of. Firstly the pills one, sure you take all the pills in a certain time, but surely the effect of the pills would last longer, unless they're placebos of course, but thats a different story altogether. Secondly, the marriage one, do they actually have a law about that??? New laws, at least in England, largely only come about through people trying to do something dubious, getting caught, and the courts deciding that they shouldn't be allowed to do that...

edit - Oh yeah, and apparently my love life is mediocre!

i sure the americans, especialy the californians have a law about marrying a dead person. its not allowed in this contry, if you are dead you can not give consent !

some of the questions in that (the baseball one especially) nicely highlights why intelligence (and iq) tests mean nothing.

intelligence is socially constructed to give some poeple power over others (everybody's equal, but some are more equal) and when it comes down to it, you might be very, very good at answering intelligence tests and reading though the words... but then, how much use is that in the real world?

oops, sorry, i felt like a mumble

11/11. I guessed the innings one and I had to think about the widow one. It's like the pub quiz when they ask about soaps or football I throw the sheet away.

200mph - 23/3/04 at 01:28 PM

the wording of the birthdays one....

fair enough, someone is only born once obviously, but birthday is the accepted term for the aniiversary of your birth. therefore generally we have more than one birthday.

Nitpicking I know...but i got it wrong

Mark

Surely for a marriage to be legal it has to be consumated.... that would make it illegal at least!!!!!!

id dispute the stamp one. It could've been any type of stamp so there might've been no 2 cent stamps...

and the one about the months was crap. and so was the cricket/baseball and the wife one...

needless to say i scored quite poorly...

Hellfire - 23/3/04 at 04:41 PM

Who the frink is moses

Bu88er!

10/11 (seen 'em before.. still got one wrong!!!)

kingr - 23/3/04 at 07:06 PM

I would say the months one was pretty stupid, it's not valid syntax to say "have 28" and in fact mean "at least 28". The other months don't have 28 days, they have 30 or 31 (plus there's the confusion of leap years).
