As the eu are banning vacuum's over 1600watts dose this include vacuums for orbital sanders ?
The vacuum's at work are only just good enough as they are

its only domestic vacuums

Reduced the power consumption, so you can use them for twice as long. Bright move

Don't worry - it's hair dryers, toasters and kettles next.

To be fair it's the engineering solution- using high power ones is the american "more displacement" solution to a problem which can be improved with better efficiency. Sure there's a ceiling on efficacy limited by physics, but the best hoovers are almost unanimously NOT the high power ones, the high power ones are usually just the cheap "throw a few KW at it" route.

There's no reason at all to waste power, this is acting to encourage manufacturers to act responsibly.

Nothing to do with EU ban but today we bought an new VAX Floor & Dust Pet & Family to replace our 7 year old VAX, quite pleased with it, lighter and easier to use than last VAX lower electrical power clean just as well and filter is easier and much less messy to clean.
