Have to agree, awesome sound, even with only one of them. Just imagine what it must have been like during one of the 1000 bomber raids.

I work in the centre of Manchester on the 17th floor and saw/heard the bomber.

It flew bloody close to the building but looked cool

An advert I saw said that the Vulcan might be there as well, "subject to servicability"

Now that would be AWESOME to see!

johnston - 27/6/08 at 09:44 PM

seen the vulcan doing practice runs before it s "final flight" alot of years ago when staying at the navy base down on the south coast with sea cadets..

was awsome how they could get it too move!!!!

mistergrumpy - 27/6/08 at 10:15 PM

Aye I heard it in Manchester too. Couldn't see out of a window though. Bugger, wished I'd have caught it.

I yelled at everybody nearby at work to get outside this afternoon, it came over Coalville too, around 1:45 this afternoon I think it was, couldn't mistake the Rolls Royce soundtrack!!

I saw the Lancaster catch some greenery when flying over some trees at Audley End House Wings and Wheels day a few years ago
We also had a customer in this morning with a Merlin engine on a trailer complete with prop . Ho would have started it in the car park but all the cars would have been "pebble dashed"
