Zetec to pinto clutch

A quick question before i waste more of my money, Which Pinto clutch have poeple fitted to their 1800 zetec flywheels?

I assume it's the 215mm dia. one but it's good to check first before taking it to the machinists.

I used a Mondeo one, why are you going the Pinto route?

CVH to 2.0 litre Zetec conversion,

Used 1800 Zetec fly wheel so went for a zetec thrust plate & fruiction plate and the Qh133 release bearing. First two bought as a set off of fleabay. Last bit from little shop on th Gloucester Road in Bristol.

Engine not running yet but assembly seems to work fine.

I used all 1.8 cvh bits, with cvh flywheel [because its about 2kg lighter than 1.8 Zetec].

The only downside was having to put a toothed wheel on the crank pulley to drive my Megajolt.

Having to live with clutch slip at the mo,
So with possible upgrades on the horizon, it appears to be a popular upgrade with a greater range of clutch materials.

I've a 1800 flywheel/clutch assy. at the mo with the CT133 bearing.

I got my 1800 flywheel from retro ford ready drilled for the standard sierra 2litre clutch pressure plate and spinner. Nice point with this setup is it uses the standard sierra release bearing as well. 1800 mondy clutch is only good for about 150 bhp.

So any 2L sierra clutch should fit the bill.

I had no choice but to upgrade to a pinto clutch as i suffered with clutch slip, no problems now throw and very easy to do.

My Tiger supplied clutch is a QH part number QKT74AF. Dont forget the spigot bearing. The toynes web site is a good source of info in the Zetec fitment.
