Landrover engine mounts (vibration)
rich201283 - 21/3/11 at 07:26 AM

I have a 2.0 zetec, I have used landrover mounts but i seem to be getting a lot of vibration, Think they maybe to hard, I have checked to make sure nothing is touching the chassis.

One thing i did check is that my brother is using sierra mounts, Are these softer?

There are different types of Landrover mounts, the competition ones I used to have on my special were virtually solid. It is possible you have aftermarket ones.
Cannot comment on Sierra ones sorry, but in all my BEC's the engines are solid mounted and vibrations are not TOO bad, are you sure it is down to the mounts?
I would have thought it would only be an issue on start up and very lumpy cams?
If it is easy, try disconnecting the drive shaft and running the engine, see if the vibrations are from there?

I used the Transit engine mount as its made from very soft rubber, can't even feel my lumpy pinto running and the cars so much quieter

Size wise they are slighty wider but about the same thinkness as a landy one. you can dig your nail into the rubber its that soft

Where are the mounts placed, that effects it a lot. You want to allow movement in the right driection but prevent it in others.
