Zetec Engine Suppliers
Matthew_1 - 28/11/05 at 01:01 PM

Can anyone recommend a good supplier for a 2L zetec - all local breakers have is one that looks absolutely knackered. Any ideas about pricing on a new one, in fact any suggestions for getting hold of a reasonably good one would be helpful !

BTW I have a 1.8 with 30k miles for sale - any reasonable offer accepted. (I'm in Leeds)

Hi,
I've bought mine for 330 quids, delivered, from Abbey & Upshire Breakers. It's 3rd series one (from 2001) with 30k miles on the clock.
A new one will cost you around 2000 quids but itcomes with warranty. I think there're two companies in UK that have them but check details on zetec-cat.co.uk, they're quite good.
Regards,
Michal

What about buying a mondeo from loot or adtrader (www.adtrader.co.uk).

You can get a 2.0 for less than £300-£500 with MOT and tax up here at the chilly end of the country.

That way you get to drive around for a bit and make sure it doesn't make any nasty noises, cash in the tax, sell a few bits on ebay, hopefully getting a couple of quid from the scrapman for the shell at the end. Might even make a small profit

Matthew

I've had mine on eBay for the past 10 days! It's done 160 miles since being fully rebuilt and is yours for a reasonable price! I will sell it with or without ancillaries (eg exhaust manifold, alternator etc.)

U2U me if you're interested - this is a great engine and I have a genuine reaosn for selling!

Regards

Wyn
