jos - 18/5/10 at 07:14 PM

Loton Park is hosting an event organised by the Hagley & District Car Club, HDLCC, called Party in the Park on Sunday 23rd May (this sunday)

If anyone's in the area you'd be very welcome to come along.

Passenger rides up the hill in certain competition cars are avaialble for a small fee.

I'll be there paddock marshalling so come along and say hello and my MAC#1 will be going up the hill driven by my Dad

I might try and make this. No chance of non-members having a quick blat for a donation?

I don't think so as my dad's had to become a member and there isn't a board meeting to approve new membership applications prior to sunday

Anyone else who's on here thinking of coming to this?

Hi Jos.
Did the day turn out as you expected ?
Had a great day out myself and the weather helped, seemed to be lots of spectator cars; looked as many if not more as at some of the Hillclimbs.
The autotest demos were interesting and nice to see the trials cars in action.
Hope plenty of money was made for the charities.
Mike

I had fun.

Took quite a while to get a passenger ride in the most desirable cars. Some sort of fair queuing system would've helped out.

Managed to get a ride in a 720bhp (so pretty much same spec as the 0-100-0 record holding car) Ultima. Very fast but probably not ideally suited to hillclimbs as its so wide. Roasting hot inside it too, he had aircon but couldn't remember how to switch it on!

Also went out with the national hillclimb champion in a 997 GT3. Nice car, well driven and a very nice bloke.

yeah it was a great day, all things considered. A few seething problems that continued throughout the day regarding rides but hopefully that'll be sorted out for next time. I even managed to squeeze in a passenger ride towards the end of the day whohc was great seeing as I'd never been in a car up the hill, only walked it, before.
