Keep me Posted... I like the sound of a BBQ!..

There are some excellent BOATS and Byways around Wicken and Soham, along with a few RUPP's.

Now sould I bring my Landy to tow all those 7's out of that Fenland Mud or the Viento to join in the fun. (assuming I get it through the SVA by then).

No, bring an aqualung to wear when you go into the fenland ditches!

For those who've never seen these roads... imagine fast, undulating and fairly narrow roads built on top of a bank, 12 foot ditches on either side with 6 foot of water at the bottom. People have driven into these and not been found for days (you can't see the unfortunate car from the road).

Great laugh!

They are excellent driving roads though, 'cos usually they're not too busy.

Please take note of David's comments.. People DIE in these drains (they are NOT ditches!)
They are seriously dangerous roads if you loose concentration for even a second at speed. My firends son died in one near Whittlesey, and every winter someone dies in the drains. Car goes in and updside down. The ditches are fairly narrow, so you cant always open the doors or windows to escape. Strapped in a Seven and upside down in a harness, I wouldnt like to be in that situation.

Please take care.

PS... on the Drains bit...
Sir Cornelius Vermuyden (born Tholen, Netherlands, 1595; died London, c. April 1683) was a Dutch engineer who introduced Dutch reclamation methods to Britain, and made the first important attempts to drain The Fens of East Anglia.

He'll turn in his grave if you call all his work ditches
