I am looking for very in depth pictures or an actual drawing of the chassis for the above.

Trying to search the www and it is proving hard to find much information about them.

Would anyone happen to know anywhere to get this information, without having to buy the car, strip it and measure it myself!!!

Or if that fails, any other car that looks similar which i can base mine on!!!

I'll put money on you not finding this information.
I know someone who is a professional model maker, he makes perfect replicas of historic F1 cars and if photos or drawings existed then he wouldn't need to do what he does, which is be present when the actual cars are being rebuilt.

If you are after details of a single seater, then you could wait until next year and get a copy of Chris Gibbs new book. After all a space-frame single seater will be pretty similar regardless of who engineered it.

I was thinking about waiting for the single seater book, but from what i have read it is out next year sometime....

But i want to start it way before this is due out - and do my own body work etc.

I think i have the general idea on the sizes etc, but would rather be sure then just hoping it will.

You could do what I did, buy a scale model & work up from there - obviously won't give you the actual chassis, but will give the overall dimensions to work within.

With regard to the 312, there have been loads, I'm guessing you're thinking of the 1967 Chris Amon car? One of the prettiest F1's ever, but a very different beast from the Lotus 51. The ferrari was a ali monocoque which is a whole different ball game from a spaceframe.

What about the s/seater Tiger kitcars make?

The next issue of PPC has a feature on a road-legal formula vee.

The tiger ERA - there is something i do not like about it, but there again i want/am building something similar!!!! The nose just seems wrong in my eyes.

russbost - i had found that link, i have got some great images, but no starting point, such as wheelbase, track widths.

I could i suppose get a side image, find out the wheel sizes, with those then kind of guess the rest!!!

Donnington have got one.... i went to meant someone there as i brought some wheels, and forgot my digi camera, only had my crappy camera on my phone... was not best happy......

But i would prefer to take my tape measure, but i don't think they would like me too much.

Tamiya do a 1/10 scale Ferrari 312 TC, it's the same scale as their Caterham 7 BDR.
I know from personal experience the amount of detail they go into before producing a model.
They have just released a model of Johnny Johnson's MK 9 Spitfire and attended the Aircraft Museum in Ottawa Canada at least ten times to make sure of all the dimensions.

I'd love to build a single seater, but what the hell would you use it for?

Normal trackdays dont allow open wheels and nor does the IVA as far as I am aware?

or if if i decide it is just a track car, then leave the headlights off it.

i was thinking about trying to make some wings out off used slick tyres, so they blend in a bit better!!!!

once i start i will be doing a build diary, just hope people like the end result - going to be a couple of years away though.

They might give you some good info. Also I was reading somewhere, could even have been this forum, that a member attended an open day at Lotus. That would be an even better opportunity to quiz some employees...
