can you tell me what chassis this is i bought a car for parts as it had loads of good stuff but was far from iva standard ( not even close ) so i dont feel guilty about braking it the comunity has not lost anything

the chassis itself looks like a pro job that has at some point had a bike engine im guessing by the frame that came with it it then got sold to a numpty that put a zetec in it badly hes done a couple of brake brackets that hes glued on but the basic structure is good
thought id ask the mega mind on here someone should no as ive no clue

the chassis has roundbar crossbraces and a diffrent from haynes ( my build ) ford 7icnh carrier

Except the CSRs, but I doubt Caterham would have allowed one designed for a bike engine to leave the factory.

No vin numbers or marking of any kind
was just going to put on the bay as a start for someone's project if I can find what it is so I can say but if you boys haven't got a clue think im stuck

danmalkin - 26/6/15 at 11:35 AM

It's definitely not a caterham.

Luego did an IRS chassis for their Locost but it isn't one of theirs. Just a thought if you brought it as a complete car did you get a V5? , that may help

Doesn't the RV8 engine have staggered engine mounts like that? Would also explain the cut out chassis member.

Westfield ?

What part of the country did you buy it, if you don't mind me asking?

Nope - only the pre-lits had the sloped passenger/driver side rails and they were all live axle.

Good point, iam sure i have herd about this chassis in the past.

Slimy38 - 26/6/15 at 06:16 PM

To me that looks like a Haynes base with builder mods. The reason is that I remember seeing a post on here from someone about the pros and cons of round tube for the diagonals and tunnel. I don't think it's a particular manufacturer.

leon51274 - 26/6/15 at 07:02 PM

I've seen marks chassis and it smaller than a haynes more like dims of a ron champion but it certainly doesn't resemble a ron champion based chassis as i had one a good few years back to compare.

ive managed to identify this as a locust chassis
its now in the way as im putting mine together on the driveway
so free to good home or ill have to cut it it up to get some more room

The Locust uses a ladder chassis, not a spaceframe like this.

The bent tube triangulation at the front of the engine bay looks very familiar, but I just can't remember where I;'ve seen it before.
