Hi there I am new to this forum well kit cars altogether. Im sure I heard or read somewhere that if the car is built using a
certain % of new parts you can apply for a new REG and if you use a certain % of the parts form a single donor car then you can transfer the REG is this correct?

3 routes.

New reg:
New chassis with all new major components of which 1 can be refurbished to an as new standard.
Personal plate can be transferred on to it.

Age related:
New chassis with 2 major components from a donor car. Kit gets a new plate, but based on the age identifier of the donor.
Personal plate can be transferred on to it, but as per normal rules, you cant make it look newer

Q plate:
Any combination of parts
Plate is fixed for life.

Hi Thanks for the reply. I think it would be the Q plate option for mine then as I bought the chassis second hand off ebay.

"New chassis" = not previously registered

New chassis requires proof that it is new. Without receipt from the manufacturer stating that it is new you get a Q

If you have a PC and a printer I'm sure you can work out a way you can get a invoice for a chassis
