Indy-R Progress
MikeFellows - 18/10/11 at 08:01 AM

I dont think I've posted a progress update before and as I gave up on making a blog after a few weeks after I started (way too much commitment required) I thought I would post here.

Been at it now for 2 years and its finally starting to come together

my plan now is to have it close to finished by the end of the year ready for IVA early next year

the wiring im still finding quite daunting but im sure I will figure it out

Thanks

Thats some very nice touches you have done mate. I do like the lonesome pop rivit sat on the floor haha.
Whats that yellow thing? Looks like its some thing to do with the gear change?
Wiring; I hate electrics but hopefully you will get it sorted before the year end..
Nice work.

im guessing the 'yellow thing' is the clutch slave cylinder

yellow thing is the clutch slave cylinder, nova racing transmissions one - havent filled it with fluid yet

Those track rod ends are close to the rims

I guess they are 13" rims? Did you encounter any problems with clearance with the rears?

Looking like it will be a good car when completed Nice one thus far.

Looking good

One observation...it looks like the brake and fuel pipes disappear underneath the floor of the car?

If so I'd be concerned about their vulnerability so low to the ground. I know driving my Indy I bottomed out a few times and there were always knocks and scrapes to the underside from general road rubbish. No idea if it would be an IVA issue, but I'd question it as an examiner.

Tin tops route the pipes underneath, but they tend to be less exposed and tucked up in recesses in the floor pan so they don't sit proud of the floor.

The fronts clear without any problems (providing 2mm isnt a problem), but I needed some shorted springs for the rears which I got from MAC1 motorsports

looking good, give me a shout at some point if you want some tips on stuff for IVA, i know your a while off at the moment but once most of them are done they are fit and forget

Looks like a nice build.
The best bit is when you finally hear the engine running.
