Bike carbs for my Indy might foul nose cone :-(
Mash - 8/6/18 at 09:06 PM

So, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Dan ST manifold for my carbs, ZX9R, and have been sorting out silicone, and trumpets and stuff.

Today I measured up approximately the width of the new carbs/manifold/trumpets/socks, and they will stick out of the side of the bonnet as expected. The bad news, is that it looks as though they might be so far forward that they go beyond the front of the bonnet, and will certainly be very close at best

Anyone else been down this road before?

Cheers,
Mash

ETA should have mentioned, it's got a pinto engine

I should also have added that the manifold is a work of art, and the Dan ST service was excellent

My air filter box ended up about 2 or 3mm away from the nose cone!

That is very neat. Good job. I'm going bike carbs soon so this the sort off thing I like to see ☺

How do you find them on your engine?

They've proved to be very effective. The only down-side is that this setup is very noisy with intake roar as the revs get higher - the intake roar can be louder than the exhaust! Really I should have a proper airbox with ducting to a filter. Couldn't raise the enthusiasm to do it, as I like the noise!

Very neat job indeed! Love the colour of the kit too...
