I'm off to look at an Indy Classic at the weekend.
Spec is pretty close to what I want other than the roll bar.
It's a single non braced type.
Is it possible to swap these over without too much faff?
Ideally want a bar with rear bracing like the MSA style bars.

Looked on MK's website and they only seem to list full cages.

Have dropped them an email but thought I would ask on here too.

If the chassis has brackets on for rear stays it won't be too hard a job.
If it doesn't have brackets already it could be quite a big job,rear arches off,rear tub off,fuel tank out to weld brackets on.
Depending on how the bodywork has been fitted is the issue,if someone has used adhesive on the rear tub will take some getting off undamaged.
Same as arches,some people pop rivet them on,others bolt them on.

I built an MK Indy some years ago and opted for a welded on single roll bar without braces. Having opted for no braces MK didn't weld in the plates down either side of where the fuel tank sits to have rear braces. If building again I'd have rear braces.

As CosKev3 says removing the bodywork may be a fiddle depending on how it was fitted. I rivetted my rear tub on and bolted my rear arches. Others bond them on, which would be a faff to get them off without damaging the bodywork.

Mine doesn't have them either so I'll be doing mine next winter

Did this on mine last year. Fortunately the builder did not use any adhesive to fix the body to the chassis, but it's still a time consuming job
