Gentle touch or slight lever movement.

Should have bought a Kawasaki

my zx12 is really hard to get neutral. my cbr was a lot easier with the same paddle system.

if i made it easy to get it, it would give too much movement for my liking so i put up with it.

Normal.
As any gear, try getting it before you stop moving

Very common on a lot of bikes, often gets worse when they are hot.

As above

My Honda NC30 is hard to get into neutral if standing stationary. Trick is to blip the throttle to about 3000+ rpm and then it goes in easily.

As above, blip the throttle and slip it into neutral at the peak of the revs, works every time when you get the hang of it. It allows you to change with no pressure on the gears, drag from the clutch normally keeps everything in tension.
