Hi guys my car is in need of some dianostics is a gsxr powered car and has a miss fire at about 9k onwards on track and its splittering and holding back, plus ive goosed the clutch as well and its in need of a set up on the rollers etc, looking for a top company to send it too that knows bike engine stuff in cars and who can be trusted not to fleece me and sort it out. any recomendations im in Durham but will have to travel but not mega far ??

You need to get the clutch sorted first.

I know nothing about bike engines but have managed to swap a clutch in my R1 within the hour.

Then get it on a trailer to a rolling road...... im sure someone must know of a RR local (ish) to you.

im in Durham ab looks like he knows his stuff but at 240 miles each way eek

Steve Hignett - 25/4/11 at 05:32 AM

Do the 240 miles each way matey, having Andy working on your car is WELL worth it...

ETA - if it seems too far then try and do something else when your down there, visit friends/relatives, race weekend local to him, take the girlfriend/boyfriend on a dirty weekend etc...

another vote for damien at day tuner he has done two engine set ups and one rebuild for me lovely bloke to deal with good prices and really knows his stuff, where do you think all the mnr cars go for setting up?

coozer - 25/4/11 at 09:32 AM

Mines going to Automark in Stokesly next week.

SausageArm - 25/4/11 at 10:40 AM

I've used Dynobike in Malton to tune a bike before, very impressed with the service i recieved, he also has a 2wd rolling road iirc to set cars up with.

Apart from BigCC, have any of the others had a lot of exposure to turbocharged bike engines?

bob tatt - 25/4/11 at 10:55 AM

yes damien at day tuner he used to work for jack at holeshot before he moved he was trying to talk me into it but ive not got to the stage where i need more yet.

Cool, well that's nice to know, as BigCC is a fair distance from me.

neo2 - 26/4/11 at 09:51 PM

Im going to give damien a call at Daytuner tried today but no answer all day so he might be off work etc, got some clutch bits coming from holshot and they also recommended him as well plus he is 55 miles away which is better, plus im looking a a turbo conversion too.....
