Anyone know what is the latest news with the Swarfega car?

http://www.jetstreamsportscars.co.uk/

I saw it in Kit car then researched it.....typical crappy website..all bling and no content...no clue anywhere as to pricing that I could see.

Humbug - 17/6/08 at 05:47 PM

First time I've seen it, but it looks more than a tad like a Mojo with very slightly squared-off lines, don't you think:

theconrodkid - 17/6/08 at 05:50 PM

fugly

Scotty - 17/6/08 at 05:57 PM

err....

the rumours down here are that they are having severe financial problems

not trying to upset anyone but just be careful if spending money

designer - 17/6/08 at 06:40 PM

That's not the same car as on the web site.

joneh - 17/6/08 at 06:46 PM

Would that go through an SVA?

chrsgrain - 17/6/08 at 07:21 PM

If they can't be bothered to spell check their website.... doesn't say much for the rest of their product...

... and yes, fugly....

Chris

No, it's a real Mojo.

Looks better in black than red, can't see the wonky panel gaps - look at the video

Saw it at Autosport - Expensive and doesn't move the game on in any respect.

Garbage.

Alan B - 17/6/08 at 08:56 PM

If it was a home built I'd say nice effort...bit too boxy..a bit too low on the front end.....just lacking some professional styling more than anything....

However, when you read it was allegedly professionally styled...someone has put their name to it apparently, then it's hard to see anything but failure....

What is it with some people...why don't they see that it's just not attractive?

IMO

Had a good look over this car at Autosport Show earlier this year. Aside from lacking in the looks dept. it's nothing new or special in terms of mechanical design and manufacture. From what I saw it wasn't particularly well finished either.

It did have a VX VXR motor in though which seemed quite a good idea

spaximus - 17/6/08 at 09:32 PM

I spoke at lenght to the guy at Autosport with my mates, we all dropped a jaw when he told us it was fully built only and approaching £30k!!!!
Apparently it handles and goes like stink but it has fallen from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

It can't possibly be that the grant funding is running out.......as no one in their right minds would pay Elise money for that.

Pity they didn't spend 10p to call Richard Oakes - he's just down the road from them.

imp paul - 17/6/08 at 09:38 PM

it looks like a pile of steaming poop

skodaman - 17/6/08 at 10:15 PM

Yeah fugly and not even cheap.

cloudy - 17/6/08 at 11:14 PM

Why can't people use spellcheckers when building websites?

procomp - 19/6/08 at 01:26 PM

Hi dose that picture of the blue one above not say MOJO on the rear panel.

Cheers Matt

Pffft. You blokes don't have a clue when it comes to ugly. Check this shed out.

Mid engined too so it's on topic. Honestly I've seen some godawful efforts when it comes to kits but this heap of warthog dung takes the cake!

And its Australian! Oh woe is me...................

akumabito - 21/6/08 at 10:57 AM

Wow.. a car that makes the Mojo look downright PRETTY! Hell, even the Onyx Mongoose looks nice in comparison to that.. thing.

It doesn't look any better in the video on the website, seems a shame to go to all that effort and then mess up so badly on the body design.

I could also see, in the video, an apparent severe shortage of legroom, you would have thought the designer would have made sure that he at least could fit in it alright.

John

Doesn't look too bad to me. Just add a pick-up bed to the back

garage19 - 23/6/08 at 09:02 PM

That JTS effort looks like a pagini zonda from legoland

Mark Allanson - 28/6/08 at 05:19 PM

Just popped into the factory when passing, a big sign says 'offices to rent' and the place is completely empty, only an old oil drum and half an incomplete chassis out the back.

£29K or offers

geoffreyh - 1/11/08 at 12:53 PM

It is quite a lot but try to have an Atom for that price. With an Atom you don't even get some kind of closed bodywork.

I think the price can be found in the chassis with a monocoque aluminium central chassis and honeycomb reinforced impact structures.
Front and rear are steel subframes.
