Do wing mirrors have to be E Marked for SVA? r

not quoting the manual but IIRC they do not have to be E marked but they do have to meet the requirements as set out in the manual.

IIRC the manual says they need to be E- marked OR blah de blah etc etc.

I could be wrong though.

Great answer Col - is that a yes or a no?

As long as they meet the criteria for 'e' marked mirrors they should pass. That's glass area and edge radii.

Also if they are outside the body line they will need to deflect if a 10Kg force is applied to them, forwards and backwards.

If they stick out further than the rear wings they are gonna be some big ass mirrors

I was stating that pretty much most e-marked ones are ok, but also there are many NON e-marked ones that are fine to assuming they conform to the Blah de blah in the manual.

So in short thats a NO they do not have to be E marked!

Is that right Pete, as in the bodyline is a line from the front "mudguard" the to rear one? If so, surely no sensible length 7 mirror has the meet the deflection rule, but I thought they had to???
