Wheel Speed Sensors

has anyone ever fitted wheel speed sensors/pickups to a sierra upright or English axle with disc brakes?

I have a traction control idea.

Loads of people have fitted crank position sensors on home made brackets so wouldn't have thought it too hard for a wheel speed sensor , the biggest problem would be the sensor ring? Check your local motor factors as some sell replacement rings

I've got the BMW ABS sensors on my car (not Sierra or English axle though) hooked up to a racelogic TC box, which works well. The sensors are cheap 2nd hand off Ebay.

What's your idea?

After a bit more research, it appears I could swap out the hub/upright assy with items from an ABS fitted Sierra which gives me the two front wheels.

Rears are a little more difficult, it may be easier to take a signal from the propshaft (LSD fitted).

Back in my classic mini days, we played with using an arduino and megajolt to change ignition timing, based upon detected wheel slip (adjustable in car). We got it working in the bench with a few potentiometer to adjust wheel speeds etc. In theory and on the bench it appeared to work ok. I'm now thinking of implementing it into the Ginetta.
