sierra rear drive flanges

hello everyone

I have started to put together an MNR vortx over here in Australia.

in regards the sierra drive flanges, (I have already purchased some alloy hubs and bearings assemblies).

1/ where is the best place to purchase these?
2/ are they still available new? and if so does some one have a ford part number.

sorry if my questions have been asked before, but they (sierra) aren't a common car over here.

If you have a look on MK Website they sell the driveshafts and flanges.

thanks, looked at the website, they have the stub axles (which I have already), but I am after the drive flanges

worked the second time with some trail and error.

whilst I have bid on items on uk EBAY, due to the time difference they generally end during the very early Am over here, so I generally wake to notices saying I have been out bid by 1 pound etc.

I doubt they available new anymore - ford don't support the sierra anymore and most of the dealers have got rid of there old stock of parts by now

have you looked for parts from NZ ? the sierra was actually sold there for a wee while

Not looked, but ebay may prove to be a useful source for you. You might have to negotiate international delivery, but I've found ebay a good source in the past.

I never bid manually on eBay. Look for "Auction Sniper". Once set up, you enter in your maximum bid, and forget about it.
It will bid incrementally, and only in the last 5 seconds

Are the ones on the pictures yours? If they are, what is wrong with them?

You could give them a good clean, and remove the rust by electrolysis, I did that on mines, and the result is simply amazing. Remove the old wheel studs, you can buy new ones at Rally Design, Deamon Tweeks, etc. Degrease the parts, remove the rust by electrolysis, dry them and repaint immediately, and they will be as new.

The pictures are of the last ones i tried to purchase as an example. Yours cleaned up well, i was planning similar if i have to use used items.

Pretty sure they are different (half shaft and bearings sizes vary). I think I have both at home, if I get a chance I will check (not for sale though, but just to confirm).

^^ what he said - you need the ones that match your hubs... what type of stubs/flanges/bearings were your alloy hub carriers designed to fit ?

if you need the disc brake type (which I assume you do as the drum brake types stub axle is part of the driveshaft rather than a separate bolt on part) to widen your search a little bit the ugly 95-98 ford scorpio's use a version of these same hubs that I believe is basically identical.

btw - mk3 granada's (85-94) use a 5 stud version of the same hub - this is the same as the disc braked sierra one except for the drive flange is slightly bigger and uses 5x112 stud spacing with the typical 63.4mm ford centre bore (similar to VW, Audi and Merc except for the centre bore)

all that assumes that your diff flanges and stub axles are the smaller bolt-on size (the ones that fit the 100mm lobro CV joints, rather than the 108mm ones from the 2wd cossie)

thanks for the information, that's something new I have learnt today off the list.

the hubs I purchases are to suit disc brakes (253mm sierra 4 stud) from www.anemboengineering.co.uk and my cv joint stubs are to suit the 100 lobro's.
