thegasmen - 25/3/07 at 08:13 PM

Has anyone tried to build a locost using a impreza turbo engine they seem rather reasonably priced now a days.

speedyxjs - 25/3/07 at 08:16 PM

i think some people have dreamed about it.

Danozeman - 25/3/07 at 08:26 PM

Adrenaline Motorsports Murtaya. Nice looking car but nothing like a 7.

nludkin - 25/3/07 at 08:43 PM

The Murtaya from Adrenaline Motorsport uses a scooby as a donor. It's in the latest copy of totalkitcar, along with a review of the new Haynes roadster.

Doh.. Just beat me to it ;-)

gearbox is the prob.

jlparsons - 25/3/07 at 09:51 PM

looks nice but just a little bit batman...

Here's a thought - could you fit the scooby engine in something sevenesue but fully faired, like maybe the fury?

caber - 25/3/07 at 11:05 PM

Much better for a midi, take the whole front end to the back and get rid of the rear facing shaft output. fix the geometry of the suspension with solid links and stick a frame with a conventional double wishbones at the front, job done sub 3 seconds to 60 !

Check out the Saker RSC http://www.sakerextreme.com/index.html

Takes the turbo 4 or the flat 6

I seem to recall a (non-turbo) Subaru-powered RWD Locost from New Zealand
on the YahooGroups Locost List.
The engine stuck out over the chassis rails.

locost_bryan - 28/3/07 at 04:14 AM

Used an older pushrod Subie - just fits in a +4 frame iirc.

A WRX with the heads sticking out could have a bit of bling
