hiay people me agin i just brought i 1600xflow to replace my 1300xflow can i use the same gear box any probs it would cause thanks
They all use the same gearbox, you may need a different clutch depending on which flywheel you're using, if you remove your old 1300 flywheel and clutch they fit the 1600 no prob.
Should be fine. Only differences could be a different sump and an extra inch in the top of the block.
Cheers

AHH Takes me back I remember doing this when escort engines were still fitted in escorts And bike engines were only fitted in bikes Those were the days ????
I seem to remember GT 1600 eating 1300 boxes. The cheap fix was 2000e v4 replacements.
Alex
Good time to change to a type 9.
Cheers John
Depends if your gearbox came from a Mk1 or Mk2, Escort.
MK1 Escort gearboxes last about week of hard use with a 1600 engine. Mk2 gearboxes are a bit stronger but still weak when compared to any of the
Cortina & Corsair 1600/200o Capri or Sierra boxes.
Changing the box also means changing the propshaft,
1600 Xflos came with heavier flywheels than the smaller engine.
