Suspension time is nearing. Is there any standard relationship between the unthreaded and threaded section on any given bolt. I.E. will a 70mm bolt always have a Xmm unthreaded section?

Doesn't specify whether there is a standard relation ship ( generally 3/4" to 1" across the range) but seems to be as close as I'm going to get.

If you buy MS airframe bolts the thread is always just long enough for I think a washer, nyloc and leaves about 2 threads showing.

Not having to cut off a load of thread and the fact that they are plated and consistent quality makes them worth the price, which isnt actually that much.

Clarendon Eng Supplies are my normal supplier.

I think you will find the the thread length is 2.5 x the diameter on a standard metric bolt.
