Loads of crossflow bits fs - 11 miles from Stoneleigh
Dave Ashurst - 1/5/10 at 04:25 AM

If anyone wants any crossflow engine parts I can probably help (all these are used unless stated otherwise):

camshafts (inc one billet steel Piper 285)

new cam followers (made in germany - i.e. not the recently problematic mocal parts from india supplied by Kent and Piper)

cyl heads (various standard and big valves inc one with offset monster valves) (ONE BIG VALVE HEAD RESERVED FOR MIKE)

blocks (well, at least one - that from a 1700 hillclimb mallock and needing a rebore - worth a go perhaps)

1600 sump - I think I've got one at least. (SOLD)

cast pistons (standard and +90thou) (ONE SET OF +90 PISTONS RESERVED FOR MIKE)

rods (cast 1600) (AT LEAST ONE SET RESERVED FOR DAVID)

1600 cranks (at least 2) (AT LEAST ONE RESERVED FOR DAVID)

timing chains (duplex/simplex) (Edit; Including gears.)

chain covers (at least 2) (ONE RESERVED FOR MIKE)

crank seal covers (ditto)

push rods (1600)

oil pick ups

rocker covers (at least 1 I think)

flywheels (standard and lightened, including a nice light steel one) (AT LEAST ONE RESERVED FOR DAVID)

Clutches (used but serviceable, including a twin plate race clutch for the steel flywheel - needs new plates)

oil pumps (high pressure and standard - a bucket full)

fuel pumps (mechanical ones off engines I've cannibalised)

Original downdraught weber carbs and manifolds.

ford 4 speed gearboxes; a selection of type 3 and type 2

A broken, plate-type, English axle LSD, (end cover shattered but all else looks intact) as a bucket of bits - recoverable? I dunno. (RESERVED FOR PAUL)

various clutch arms

alternators

Starter motors

one pair of new K&N filters, DCOE40 fitting, boxed, unused (except for a 15min test drive!). (type ref 56-9105 54mm high)

plus other things I don't know about ...

Any questions drop me a line by U2U or if anything takes your fancy make me an offer.

To be honest I'm not sure what else I've got in storage, but I'm near Stoneleigh and I'm having a clear out. It will all go on ebay later in the year.

dave, interested in the big value head and front timing chain cover and 90thou pistons depending on price and condition. Away at mo, will contact when back if bits still available.

Dave Ashurst - 1/5/10 at 01:05 PM

Mike,

No probs, they're still in the storage unit so far Give me a call when you're ready then come and have a browse.

I've also got some new unused boxed 90thou 1300 pistons which will give high compression on a 1700 depending on valve cutouts needed.

Hi David,

I'm interested in the Sump, cranks, rods, flywheels and some other bits, I'll likely be over next weekend if you're around.

David
Sump's gone, sorry. Lots of other bits though. I'll be home next weekend, see you then?

In Utrecht in the week though, are you up for a beer Monday or Tuesday night?

Hi Dave, I wonder if you have any standard 1300 pistons (am I right in saying these go straight into a 1600 without mod to give higher comp?).

Let me know if you do - currently rebuilding a 1600 so could be interested in other ancillaries etc...

Hi Rich,
Sorry I don't think I've got any standard size 1300 pistons.

Hi Paul

Sorry mate. I don't have a spare.

The only one I've got is intimately attached to a nice, 4 speed, type 3 gearbox.*

[EDIT: *It came as part of a engine and gearbox set out of a hillclimb mallock that was being upgraded. According to the architect I bought it from, the gearbox was professionally rebuilt each season.
I only really wanted the engine but he wouldn't split. So here we are.
It comes complete with bellhousing

If Dave can't help I have a pressed steel type

Dave Ashurst - 15/5/11 at 09:48 PM

Guys,

Sorry, I can't check my storage unit until the weekend. So, I think I've got:

A rocker cover or two, pressed steel type.
Duplex timing gears and chain £20
Simplex ditto £10

Choice of duplex depends on the depth of your timing chain cover. (I have deep timing chain cover suitable for duplex set.) Both chain sets are used, both are offset dowel fitting, not vernier type.

You can probably see some of these in my photo archive, but I haven't updated it for a while and several things have gone.

EDIT to add: I just looked at the photos. They were a random and incomplete set. We didn't photograph everything.

Feel free to U2U me your questions and I'll do my best.
