Gun will be deactivated unless the new owner has a licence, who is going to have a licence for a 120mm cannon?

adithorp - 20/6/13 at 12:44 PM

I know someone who's brother has a Chieftan (along with a whole load of smaller stuff). He bought it, then had to buy a Scannel transporter to bring it back from Germany. He has to inform the Police traffic division every time he want's take it somewhere.

would love to see a parking warden try and clamp it out side the dvla when trying to register it :-)

You'll also need a tracked armour licence I think to drive it on the road.

Chieftain weighs a little less than that (55 tons, 56 tonnes) according to wikipedia - not sure if that's fully loaded though which could tip it over.

Bargain, I used to teach people to drive these, if anyone buys it i'll give them a lesson weight wise it would depend on what type of ammo it was bombed up with

I think you only get those foam darts with the sucker on the end

I'd wait out for a CVR(T) or a 434 REME variant as it has a crane, would make kit car work outside your house hell of a lot easier.
