FS: 2015 Westfield Mazda SEIW £6700
prawnabie - 18/9/16 at 02:44 PM

Hi all,

After casually advertising my Westfield on a few threads I have had a few U2U's requesting pictures and spec etc so I thought I would start a thread up...

Car was built from a P reg MX5 1.8 with 80k on the clock. The components I used from it were...

Engine + box
Diff + driveshafts
Propshaft (modified by bailey morris)
Front + rear uprights
Wiring loom + ecu/fuse boxes (modified to take out extra circuits)
Instrument panel
Steering column + stalks

The car was built with the following spec..

New 2.4 rack with solid mounts
New front+rear bearings
New front + rear calipers pads and discs
New upper/lower ball joints/rack ends etc
Westfield coilers front+rear
Lightweight alloys with Yokohama Parada 2 tyres
Matching spare with same tyre with carrier to fit if needed
Aerodynamix rear diffuser
lightweight racing battery

Engine was stripped + inspected + rebuilt with genuine Mazda gaskets/seals
Shortened sump
Front of cam cover removed for ease of access
New sensors fitted (o2,temp, oil etc)
Westfield 4-1 manifold and carbon repackable exhaust
Spare chrome exhaust with cat for MOT time
Coolant reroute done
BMC CDA carbon air filter

T7 designs heater to demist screen - other outlets can be added to heat the cabin if needed
Westfield padded race seats - drivers side is on runners
Full carpet set
New Prima Motorsport Titon 3" harnesses with rotary release
Full wet weather gear with framework stowed in place under rear boot cover

Bad points - there are a couple of scratches in the gel coat on the o/s side panel and due to the car being in storage whilst we moved house, there is also a mark on the front corner of one of the cycle wings where is has rubbed against something.

One owner (me!) and I have copies of all the documentation relating to registration and IVA as well as lots of build photos. The build was started in 2014 and completed in 2015. MOT not needed until 2018. Car is on an age related plate. Mileage is currently 4038 (speedo was reset when car was built) and although I don't drive it that often it may increase if we get a good day!

Due to the scratches listed above I am putting this up for £6700.

Any questions please ask! More pics are in my archive!

I know it's end of the seven season. But I think your selling the car too cheap! At least by a couple of grand in my opinion

I agree!

prawnabie - 19/9/16 at 09:00 PM

This is now sold pending completion

Dick - 20/9/16 at 07:35 AM

Yes Rob is going to be so pleased when he drives this away we will be up as arranged cash in hand

prawnabie - 20/9/16 at 08:32 AM

Rob is not buying this, although Its obvious you already know that and are just trying to throw a spanner in the works. Regardless of what was arranged with him, I am selling it to the person who I was in contact with BEFORE Rob approached me. At the and of the day, It is MY car and I can sell it to whom I want.

Due to the pending collection of the car this thread is has now run it course and i would be grateful if it could be left to work its way off the page.

Dick - 20/9/16 at 09:42 AM

That a pain and I thought it was only ebay that had vankers advertise on it and then pull stuff off , no morals or trust typical seller. Not the normal quality of people on locostbuilders I very glad to say

prawnabie - 21/9/16 at 06:13 PM

Car is now sold and at its new home. I hope the new owner is happy with it, I know I was! Time for people to start acting their age and not their usernames...

Dick - 21/9/16 at 07:53 PM

Glad to talk it over anytime but face to face
From person with morals and is a man of his word
Dick

bowood14 - 21/9/16 at 08:06 PM

Collected car and just got home very happy and will enjoy driving it.
Dick I'm not sure what your issue is as you haven't replied to my u2u, I met Shaun who is a very nice and honest chap, my understanding is that I was first to contact, so Shaun and I were in discussion and I agreed to pay the asking price without viewing and collect today. I have been told by Shaun that others actually offered more than his asking price but as I was first and we had an agreement he stood by it.
Anyway Locost builders is better than this so let this stop now.
Regards to everyone

CRAIGR - 21/9/16 at 08:18 PM

Glad you got back safe well and happy and had an amiable deal

So what's next Shaun?

velocitykendal - 5/10/16 at 04:16 PM

Well well well, look what just turned up on PH for sale - 2 weeks after this sale - with a £2800 price hike:

How (sadly) predictable, incredibly blatant and unscrupulous given the amount of people likely interested in owning the car for the right reasons.

Can anyone smell bullsh!t? You're a real asset to the kit car community. When I say 'asset' I mean parasite.

Whenever I see this type of behaviour it gets my back up

CosKev3 - 5/10/16 at 04:41 PM

Oh dear .

Why lie if you just bought it because it was a great price and you planned on trying to make a killing on it?

ian locostzx9rc2 - 5/10/16 at 05:00 PM

My thoughts aswell

sdh2903 - 5/10/16 at 05:00 PM

Whilst frowned upon the guy hasn't done anything wrong. The car was sold too cheap but the owner wanted to sell at that price. You can't make someone sell a car for market value if they for some reason don't want to.

ian locostzx9rc2 - 5/10/16 at 05:19 PM

I agree he hasn't done anything wrong it was too cheap but the seller was quite happy with the price .

Who's talking about the original seller? I was referring to how sh!tty it is for bowood14 to turn that car around so quickly and blatantly to make a quick buck (whilst lying about how he was going to enjoy the car). The kit car scene doesn't need stuff like this, this whole scenario in this thread just reeks of opportunism which is a drain on the community.

CRAIGR - 5/10/16 at 05:39 PM

As said by others the seller got the price he wanted for the vehicle no more no less. The new owner has every right to do exactly as he pleases with it.
Happens all the time Velocity so get over it ffs. It will make no difference to the kit car community whatsoever or this forum.

sdh2903 - 5/10/16 at 05:41 PM

Whilst a bit underhand the guy is just selling on a car. Do you get as wound up when Arnold Clark give you a crap trade in price then put it up for sale for 2k more.

If the car was sold at market value it wouldn't have attracted a dealer. But it's the original sellers perogative to sell for whatever he wants. Even though it really devalues the market for everyone else.

Exactly my point Craig, defend it all you want but I think it stinks in such a small close knit scene/industry.

CRAIGR - 5/10/16 at 06:12 PM

Well I thank you for your valued opinion to which you are entitled of course but I'm sure something more constructive than calling people parasites would get your meagre post count up.
How the tiger building going ???

prawnabie - 5/10/16 at 06:17 PM

Bowood is free to do what he wants with the car, he owns it!! As stated I got exactly what I wanted out of the car and am happy with the deal. I know I could of hung onto the car and make a bit more or possibly ask more for it when selling but that's life - I needed a quick sale to get it shifted from where it was currently parked or else it would of started spending more and more time parked outside.

Adi, my next project is to get this 1360 herald restored and then get into some single seater racing!

bowood14 - 5/10/16 at 07:21 PM

I feel I need to say something, I didn't really want to get involved but when people start slandering me then I either speak to my solicitor or make my point. I bought the car in good faith from Shaun who is a really nice bloke and gave him the price he asked for. No offers unlike some of the other "close knit community" who offered £5k!!! I had all intentions of keeping it but it is far to nice to use in the way I want (trackdays) so have decided to continue with my Zx9 BEC that I have had for 5 years. The price I have it advertised for is what I would sell for, if not I will keep it in the garage and use in the summer next year. No one would complain if I lose £3K on a car.

Get off your soap boxes there are more important things to get upset about in life. Be careful what you say about people you don't know

So the car doesn't meet your needs?

You've given your interpretation of events. People can make of that what they will.

bluephil19781 - 6/10/16 at 01:15 PM

The old 'too nice to use as a track day car' reason for selling...

Wondered what bull***t would be used.

CRAIGR - 6/10/16 at 04:15 PM

Lol at you guys .

The local greengrocers have certainly shifted some stock of sour grapes this week to the federation of keyboard warriors .

Adamirish - 7/10/16 at 08:38 PM

Wow! This has gotten very bitter!

Craigr was happy with the sale price(I wouldn't have been but it wasn't my car) the buyer decided to make a few quid on it. That's his perogative. Every car dealer in the world does exactly the same thing. Now it don't know if the buyer is a dealer but who wouldn't want make a few(quite a few) quid if they had the opportunity? Can any of you honestly say that you haven't bought something cheap and sold for a profit? Have any of you bought a car from a dealer? Did that conversation with them go the same way as this thread?

You snooze, you lose as they say.

Just for a bit of balance, it seems I snooze a lot!

PS, I'll give you £100 for the seats!
