Doing a major tidy up of the garage over the last few weeks and with getting my nicer alloys I needed to get shot of the old ones (or atleast move them somewhere else. I thought whats the point in keeping the boldy tyres (slicks). Even if I do need the wheels for SVA (Speedo calibration) I would need to get new tyres for them.

I used to drive my car over the wheel to break the bead but I though surely you can make one with bits of metal.

So I got a bit of old shop shelving, some chain from my engine hoist, a small bit of 5mm 2x2 angle and an 8in length of 5mm x 40mm bar.

I welded the bar, angle and shelfving together and using the big ramp as the base.

One diy bead breaker. Worked first time without any damage to the alloy.

I can now remove the knacked tyres and bin them, then stick the alloys in the loft.
