omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 01:42 PM

can anyone recommend me a program that will convert bin/cue files to dvd burnable files please, i normaly use convertX but it won't do bin/cue files.

cheers

you could install daemon tools, "Mount" the bin file and then from your regular dvd burning program, create a copy from the virtual drive? Long way round but that's how I'd prolly end up doing it as I'm rubbish

i mounted it using Magic ISO but my convert program won't recognise it. Magic ISO is the same as demon tools really.

have a look at some of these

them guys are usually pretty good at that kind of stuff. my understanding of them was you just need to put the .bin/cue file on to burn to the disc, the rest sort of happens automatically

I use Nero - works well and easy to use.

blake thats for cd's, not dvd's, i think that you have to convert to avi first and then convert to dvd vob, then burn

i thought the process was still the same, but then i've not tried for either

Nero Express can burn Bin files direct, or from the prompted cue file. Just go to the "burn image or saved file"

Staple balls - 19/6/09 at 02:20 PM

bin/cues are image files, so they should just burn and work, just feed the cue to your app of choice, and it should work.

I personally like imgburn because it works, and is free.

Alcohol 120% is what I use. (I kid you not)

Try changing the file name to .iso from .bin, works for me

The Baron - 19/6/09 at 02:42 PM

I use bin2iso, a freeare app

Just burn to a DVD as an SVCD using Nero, no need to convert then

omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 04:29 PM

really starting to pi$$ me off now, tried burning with nero, won't have any of it says that i can't burn to a dvd, only a cd, (but the file is 800mb, feckin program!)

tried about 6 programs now and nothing is working!

Staple balls - 19/6/09 at 04:35 PM

it might help if we knew what the file contains.

if it's video, it's likely to be a VCD, then your bet bet is to mount it, extract the mpeg and convert as usual.

otherwise, mount it and extract the stuff, then burn it onto a dvd as data.

omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 04:42 PM

yeah its a video bin 800mg, ive mounted it with magicISO and then tried to convert it and none of them are working, ive tried using convertX2dvd, daemon tools, nero, AVS Video converter and bin2iso!

also tried changing the file name but it won't let me do that either

once it's mounted have you tried right clicking the virtual drive and using open or explore? that should let you see the contents and let you copy everything out.

omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 04:56 PM

yep done that, i go into the MPEGAV folder and i get the media file that is in a .dat format, and it won't let me convert it or change its format to avi etc

Staple balls - 19/6/09 at 04:59 PM

copy it to somewhere and rename it to .mpeg?

omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 05:10 PM

tried to copy it to desktop and got a window saying, "invalid MS-Dos Function" ??????

then tried to copy into another file and it did the same

Staple balls - 19/6/09 at 05:23 PM

now that's got me stumped.

omega0684 - 19/6/09 at 05:33 PM

haha, me to, ive never had this much trouble converting and burning before, normally its straight into thte converter and then burn straight to disc!

Keith Weiland - 19/6/09 at 06:26 PM

If you have 750mb CD try enabling overburn and see if it will burn it otherwise you will have to get an 800mb cd.

charliemuir - 16/7/09 at 09:37 PM

should have a look at NERO for sure as I have doen it before with that im sure!
